The California Efficiency + Demand Management Council (the Council) is a statewide trade association of non-utility companies that provide efficiency, demand response and data analytics products and services in California.
Our member businesses include implementation and evaluation experts, demand response companies, engineering and architecture firms, data analytics firms, contractors, financing experts, energy service companies, workforce training entities, and manufacturers of energy efficiency products and equipment.
Governance and Operating Structure
The Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) mutual benefits corporation with a Board of Directors elected to represent its California industry members. Services provided by The Council are provided through our staff, contracted consultants, and a combination of volunteer support from the Board Directors and member companies. As a responsible organization, The Council has professional anti-trust, conflict of interest and client confidentiality protection policies.

Our Mission Statement
The Mission of the California Efficiency + Demand Management Council (the Council) is to accelerate the evolution of clean energy markets and expand the impact of distributed energy resources vital to California’s future. Our Strategic Goals include:
- Firmly establish efficiency and demand management’s place in the distributed energy resource (DER) market and strengthen the role of DERs in the implementation of California’s clean energy goals
- Provide members with timely and relevant services so their businesses can thrive
- Strengthen the Council’s finances and organizational capabilities
